30 years, Centronic has manufactured high quality silicon photodetectors
for the insatiable demands of the 'photonic' market. During this time,
we have manufactured perfect products for countless applications, the
majority of these being custom designs specific to the customer.
Below is a small selection of some of the applications we have manufactured products for over the last few years.
Industrial control
Applications such as sorting, colour sensing, barcode reading, paint mixing
and position sensing all benefit from optimising the device geometry package,
filter and test options to deliver board-ready components for OEM assembly.
Military IR
Fast PIN quadrant photodiodes using either p- or n-type silicon are designed
specifically for laser designator and defensive aid applications. Centronic
delivers high performance diode geometries using a proven semiconductor
process. An integrated design, development, manufacture and testing operation
enables qualified devices in specialised or complex packages to be offered
in quantities ranging from a few units to volume production levels from
the same fabrication line.
Particle sizing
For laser scattering measurements Centronic designs large area monolithic
arrays with element size and shape determined by the customer’s
unique analysis algorithms. Specialist semiconductor processes are then
used to fabricate the units with modified carrier lifetimes and dead-zone
signal attenuation. Arrays can be PCB mounted for direct system insertion.
