REM Counters
REM (Roentgen Equivalent
Man) counters are used to measure total human body neutron doses and are
designed to give high neutron sensitivity over a wide range of neutron
energies. REM/N and REM/ION chambers are designed to be portable and provide
dose rates in either Rem/hour or mSv/hour. For conditions where the machine
pulse repetition frequency is too low for satisfactory use of the REM/N
(or where very high dose equivalent rates are required to be measured)
the use of the REM/ION is recommended. Spherical REMs are designed to
provide omni-directional monitoring. All Centronic REMs provide accurate
measures of human neutron dose rates for neutron energies ranging from
0.025eV to 10MeV.
