Centronic has received a major contract from Ultra Electronics Command and Control Systems business.
The contract is for the long-term manufacture and management of neutron flux detectors for a number of AGR reactors in the EDF Energy UK fleet.
The high integrity sensors are a key element of the safety systems that monitor the safe operation of nuclear plant.
Neil Foreman, chairman of Centronic, said: “I am delighted that Centronic has been chosen by Ultra to deliver this contract.
"The Group currently supplies detectors across a number of reactor technologies and has supported the AGR fleet for many years.
"Contracts such as this help to underpin the level of investment needed to maintain and develop the specialist skills and facilities required to manufacture these products and support the
industry for the long term.”
