SOLATELL - Sister company of Centronic Ltd
On Wednesday 30th April 2003 the business assets of 4D Controls Ltd, including all patents and trade marks relating to the Solatell and ARAD product ranges, were acquired by Solatell Ltd, a sister company of Centronic Ltd.
Centronic has over 50 years experience in developing and manufacturing semiconductor and gas-filled detectors for a wide range of electro-optic and radiation detection applications around the world. Based in Croydon (near London), the company has over 70 employees and has facilities embracing design, prototype and full-scale in-house manufacturing and testing, including semiconductor chip fabrication and assembly under Class 100 clean-room conditions. The entire operation is ISO 9001:2000 accredited and conforms to the most stringent military and aerospace standards.
The Solatell business will be relocated and integrated immediately into the Centronic premises in Croydon. However, to quote Ian Crawford (Managing Director) “Solatell will remain a distinct brand. We will continue to fully supply and support the current product range, as well as investing in product improvements and the development of new products”.
Andrew Ridyard, the founder of 4D Controls, will continue to be associated with Solatell. To quote Andrew “I am delighted with this move for the Solatell product range and brand. Centronic are a well known British Electro-Optics manufacturer and supplier and I am certain that Solatell and the new ARAD designs fit well with their sales and marketing strategy. I look forward to working with their excellent team”.
