RADITEC
On Friday 8th August 2003 the business assets of Raditec Limited, including all patents and trade marks, were acquired by Centronic Raditec Ltd, a subsidiary of Centronic Holdings Ltd. Raditec Limited is a manufacturer and supplier of radiation tolerant cameras, motors and proximity switches and also offers radiation testing and laser engineering services.
Centronic has over 50 years experience in developing and manufacturing semiconductor and gas-filled detectors for a wide range of electro-optic and radiation detection applications around the world. Based in Croydon (near London), the company has over 70 employees and has facilities embracing design, prototype and full-scale in-house manufacturing and testing, including semiconductor chip fabrication and assembly under Class 100 clean-room conditions. The entire operation is ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001 accredited and conforms to the most stringent military and aerospace standards.
The Raditec business will be relocated immediately into premises in Didcot Oxfordshire. To quote Neil Foreman (Managing Director) “Centronic Raditec will remain a stand alone company but will benefit from the support and strength of the Centronic Group expertise, particularly the Radiation Detector Division. We will continue to supply and support the current product range, as well as investing in product improvements and the development of new products for hazardous environment applications”.
The acquisition of the Raditec business is in line with the strategy of Centronic which is to broaden its nuclear related product range in addition to moving towards being a provider of specialist technology products for hazardous and demanding applications.
